Description
This project seeks to develop a PXCM (Phase Transforming Cellular Matrix) based runway matting that serves as a superior alternative to AM-2 matting. The results will demonstrate the feasibility of PXCM based matting technology weighing 3.5 lb/sq ft or less is capable of being laid by hand over a level surface compacted to CBR 50, of containing debris and support flight operations for 5,000 landing-and-takeoff cycles over 60 days.
