Description

Commanders, leaders, and soldiers currently lack the ability to efficiently integrate, assess, and share track information from multiple sources. To address this capability gap the Army is developing a Common Track Protocol (CTP) that will provide relevant, timely, and complete track information in support of decision making and operations. The Information Technology infrastructure needed to provide this capability must leverage, process, integrate, store, and route existing and evolving Tactical Data Links (TDL) across disparate networks and devices. Phase I of Ingenia’s CTP Adaptive Translator Module SBIR project successfully accomplished all objectives and established the foundation for a functional prototype to be developed and demonstrated in Phase II. A CTP messaging standard was defined, CTP software requirements were developed, and a CTP software architecture was produced, all using Model-Based Systems Engineering methodologies. The CTP architecture and software design are capable of meeting all established functional and performance requirements. The Phase I Option will prototype the base CTP architecture and routing of data between multiple, virtual CTP sites. Phase II will implement a full functional prototype of the CTP architecture and integrate, demonstrate, and assess the prototype in a lab-based environment that includes Link-16, Link-22, and Variable Message Format TDL.
