Description

To address the Army need to overcome the issues with the current Network Enclosure Assembly (NEA), Intellisense Systems, Inc. proposes to develop a new Modular Open-Architecture NEA Enhancement (M-ONE) system based on the innovative implementation of open-architecture Modular Open Systems Architecture (MOSA) and C4ISR/Electronic Warfare Modular Open Suite of Standards (CMOSS) combined with a custom thermally optimized chassis and commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) component integration strategies for mission-capable ruggedization. The innovative use of CMOSS and other open standards achieves a secure reconfigurable network solution, and our novel enclosure integration techniques enable M-ONE to achieve performance in austere environments. As a result, this technology offers improvements to reliability and availability of networking functions in all weather conditions while reducing reliance on active cooling and environmental controls. In Phase I, Intellisense plans to prepare a proof-of-concept model-based demonstration of the feasibility of the proposed approach. Specifically, we will investigate and research the innovative M-ONE solution for incorporation into a new mission- and component-focused enclosure, leading to improvements in reliability and availability while operating with a reduction in active cooling and the same functional performance as the current NEA. In Phase II, Intellisense will design and package the improved components into a mission-focused prototype enclosure showcasing the M-ONE solution’s ability to be smaller, lighter, and more accessible than the current NEA. As required, Intellisense will utilize classified information to achieve these goals. Interface control documents (ICDs) will be defined and documented, and hardware specifications and test reports relevant to system performance will be developed.
