Description
In response to the Navy SBIR Topic N201-058, IRGLARE is pleased to propose the development of Long-Wave Infrared (LWIR) Quantum Cascade Lasers (QCLs) delivering continuous wave (CW) optical power exceeding 4W in a nearly Gaussian output beam (M2 < 2.0) with wallplug efficiency exceeding 16%. The improvement in CW efficiency will be achieved for these devices employing multi-material active region composition, while their long term reliability at CW optical power level of 4W will be ensured employing improved LWIR coating materials and by reducing optical peak intensity at the output facet.
