Description
Additive Manufacturing technology has advanced greatly, thus enabling it for processing energetic materials. This process is accomplished by creating a polymer of thermoplastic as a binder and homogeneously mixed with energetics fed through a FDM style 3D printer for flash and smoke compositions. Plastic explosives are made less viscous and fed through an emulsion 3D printer. The printer extrudes the material, e.g., explosive thermoplastic composites, and then prints on a flat heated surface layer by layer.
