Description
Innovator Health (IH) has been working with the 711th Human Performance Wing (HPW) to design, test and modify their existing telementoring/telemedicine technologies that would cater to austere environments, such as those seen in the En Route Care (ERC) continuum and remote forward operating bases. The addition of a telementoring capability allows for specialized medical care to be provided in austere environments from a centralized location. This capability ultimately reduces the risk of complications in transit, improves the likelihood of a return to duty, and diminishes the probability of long-term quality of life issues for injured warfighters. IH has already demonstrated the viability of their technology both in the civilian sphere and with the 711th HPW by demonstrating the simplicity of its operations and its ability to operate on low-bandwidth networks. Adapting this technology into a more ruggedized and portable form capable of operating on low-bandwidth networks provides a new capability to the 711th HPW, USAFSAM, and the USAF.
