Description

The processes and systems required to decontaminate personnel have received much attention and several effective systems exist. However, decontamination of sensitive equipment, without damage or performance degradation, is a significantly different problem that has not been adequately solved. The wide variety of electronics, fabrics and structural materials together with the infinite variations in size and shape exacerbate the problem. The overall optimized size and shape of the equipment enclosure is also paramount to the solution. If the system enclosure is too large, it will be heavy and difficult to store, transport and set up. If it is too small, multiple systems may be required for a given unit size, driving up cost and logistics footprint. Our proven technical approach will leverage existing Government and commercial technology to provide an easy to use, Self-contained, Equipment Decontamination System (SCEDS) that can be deployed organically to rapidly decontaminate sensitive equipment - multiplying the effectiveness of our fighting and support forces.
