Description

Cloud computing has been proposed for future live training and simulation systems, where user devices have limited processing powers. Such a scheme requires low-latency high-rate communications. To support live training applications, it is essential to have a mobile data network with low-latency and high-bandwidth communication capability such that users observe real-time simulation for the environment. This requires highly efficient design at network and transport layers without changing lower layers of the network protocol stack. To address this critical need, Intelligent Automation, Inc. (IAI) proposes to develop Future Adaptive Network Support Technology for Live Training (FAST-LIVE). The key innovation of FAST-LIVE is to design efficient routing protocol with network coding and efficient multipath TCP for mobile data networks to support live training and simulation by utilizing our extensive expertise on wireless network protocol design, radio development, and network simulation and emulation tests. FAST-LIVE offers the key advantage of a multi-layer design for network and transport layers to optimize end-to-end communication performance.
