Description

Combat related traumatic brain injuries (TBI) ,sustained during overseas contingency operations, negatively effect the individual combat readiness of military personnel. Individuals returning from overseas contingency operations with traumatic brain injuries face significant recovery challenges related to the effectiveness of traditional treatment protocols. A cutting-edge treatment protocol that leverages existing medical imaging technology to accurately diagnose traumatic brain injuries and decern the level of neurological damage sustained by the patient. Following diagnostics, patients begin a treatment protocol of ketamine infusion therapy, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, intranasal insulin, and intranasal plasma. This treatment protocol is designed to address traumatic brain injuries on a cellular level, reducing neuro-inflammation and delivering the biological resources necessary for tissue regeneration directly to the brain. Our treatment protocol combines several well-studied treatments for TBI into a single additive treatment protocol that leverages the unique mechanisms of each individual treatment in order to deliver superior patient outcomes. The proposed non-Defense solution is at Technology Readiness Level 5. Invictus Health, along with our partner organization, TBI Therapy, have successfully treated over 25 patients suffering from traumatic brain injuries with the proposed treatment protocol and have shown treatment efficacy through multiple qualitative case studies. Invictus Health is in the process of commercially scaling this treatment protocol in the greater Denver area.
