Description

TeraMetrix is a wholly owned subsidiary of Luna InNvations Incorporated. Both TeraMetrix and Luna InNvations meet the SBIR eligibility requirements in size and Phase II conversion. We have attached Luna InNvations' registration SBC_000671230 because it includes ALL Luna employees and eliminates the question of does TeraMetrix as a subsidiary of Luna meet the size requirements. Luna as a whole, including all divisions has 273 employees.TeraMetrix (formerly Picometrix) proposes to demonstrate the feasibility of incorporating a low cost frequency modulated continuous wave (FMCW) millimeter wave (mm-wave) radar linear array into a battery powered handheld wand to image and detect concealed Nn-metallic and metallic threats on personnel. The handheld advanced detection/imaging wand may be used for aviation passenger screening as a primary screening substitute, or as a secondary screening augmentation to the existing whole body mm-wave imagers currently deployed in airports. The device will be applicable to: pop-up checkpoint environments suitable for employee screening or other random supplemental security measures; alarm resolution procedures where additional inspection is required but may prevent a physical pat-down; and locations that canNt accommodate a fixed system due to size, weight, power, or cost limitations.
