Description
Currently, a two second 2D axi-symmetric missile launch event requires a substantial resource commitment. This requirement increases sharply for 3D simulations, and there are many instances where 3D simulations need to be performed to support useful missile profile information. In order to support timely generation of missile signature profiles, Metacomp proposes both new numerical models and run management methodologies to greatly reduce run times. To facilitate automated profile generation, Metacomp will expand functionality of its new command-line, non-interactive mode to allow macro-based flow field and profile generation. In Phases II/III, Metacomp will implement the models into its plume simulators, explore 3D effects, develop a 3D variant of its plume launch simulator GUI, validate against any other threat systems of interest, and assist organizations in use of the improved simulation suite.
