In 2014, Ursula Hessenflow and Lora Ivanova shared a growing concern about the high cost and complexities surrounding health care in general and in particular the complex stigma around STD testing. With 1/3 of Americans living with Sexually Transmitted Diseases it became clear that the conventional health care solutions were not working. Riddled by inconvenience and discomfort of lab appointments and tests lead to many skipping their annual exam and relying on trust with new partners. From years of experience in Big e-commerce, high impact marketing and product management Lora and Ursula were intrigued by the possibility of finding a way to apply the same principles of ease, convenience and lower cost to something like healthcare and something as complex and stigmatized such as STD testing, this gave birth to My Lab Box. A pioneer telemedicine solution aimed at addressing all the problems of traditional health care testing and treatment solutions and the stigma of STD testing. My Lab box was developed to provide affordable, cost effective personalized care testing solutions for prevalent infection risks. These include Nutrition, Wellness, Fertility, Women’s Health and Sexual Health. My Lab Box is a nation-wide telemedicine solution that delivers fast and complete personalized care testing solutions for over 70% of prevalent risk infections. My Lab Box delivers complete care at home with no lab/doctor visits required. The Air Force Medical Service supports the United States Air Force through the provision of full spectrum readiness delivering unique medical capabilities at home and abroad. Ensuring medically fit forces, providing expeditionary medics, and delivering trusted Care. My lab box offers trusted, complete personalized care service that is of direct and obvious benefit to the Air Medical services and the Service men and women (users). The Medical Service are not the only AF squadrons that stand to benefit from this innovation, the Aerospace Medicine and Operational and medical Readiness Squadrons also are potential customers for My Lab box. The Aerospace medical squadron is daily tasked with the work of fighting against STDs while the Operational and Medical Readiness squadrons apply preventative and proactive measures to ensure they are always operationally healthy and ready. My Lab Box can dramatically reduce testing and treatment time frames, providing wide range of health care from Wellness, Fertility, Nutrition and Women’s health all of which are integral to our service men and women and to the USAF’s continued operations at home and abroad.
