Description
In this Special AF program, NanoSonic shall explore our flexible Thermal Array insulation and easy-removal adhesive appliques as an innovative combined Defense-Related Dual-Purpose technology for near-term military and commercial markets. NanoSonic has developed ultra-high-temperature polymer derived ceramic (PDC) HybridShield (HS) Thermal Arrays as fire resistant liners for FIREFIGHTER GLOVES. HS Thermal Arrays have demonstrated financial stability through sales to Shelby Glove for use within their FLEX-TUFF HS glove. NanoSonic has also validated and sold innovative pressure sensitive adhesives (PSA) to defense prime partners that perform at high temperatures, maintain adhesion at Mach 1.9 and offer easy removal. A current dual-use need for these united technologies, identified by the Air Force and Lockheed Martin JSF engineers, is an improved jet engine blanket. Current F-35 ENGINE BKANKETS are applied with an adhesive that is extremely difficult to remove after flight. Here, we shall integrate our high-temperature peel-n-stick appliques to the current engine blankets as well as our Thermal Arrays for benchmark testing. NanoSonic shall deliver Thermal Array engine blanket demos to AF PEOs for evaluation to adapt this non-defense technology as a low risk jet engine blanket solution for JSF in a short timeframe at a low cost.
