Description
Active sensing (imaging and Lidar) is well established in the visible and SWIR bands, leading to growing proliferation of this technology, worldwide. By extending active systems into the MWIR/LWIR the Army will develop a “competitive advantage” over our adversaries. The proposed sensor offers a multi-mode readout integrated circuit (ROIC) that is compatible with either MWIR or LWIR detectors, supports LIDAR and ALPD, and can accommodate different detector types. The integration of Lidar with ALPD enables the coexistence of these two sensing modes in a single sensor, which presently is unavailable.
