Description
PhasorLab and MIT propose to design and test a new mobile, self-organizing, high-Precision synchronization network, called Hyper Sync Net (HSN) as a backup PNT solution to GPS. HSN offers resilient, robust, and secure Time and Frequency Distribution Network with a high-degree of synchronization quality (<<1ns in time, <<1ppb in frequency) which will enable cost-effective network-based PNT services, via an extensible mobile platform that can be easily deployed anywhere. HSN will also act as a network platform and provide a secure protocol that enables a variety of different sensor nodes to connect together, thus creating a consensus-based PNT system. Also proposed in this research are novel decentralized inference algorithms based on message-passing and multi-modal information fusion, which helps to optimize the overall PNT system performance.
