Description
The US Army’s PEO Aviation desires a lightweight, low-cost phased array antenna system enabling beyond line-of-sight (BLOS) communications for command and control of the Future Tactical UAS (FTUAS). PSI’s Lightweight Wideband Satcom Phased Array (LWSPA) antenna system leverages advances in high-bandwidth communications antenna design and digital signal processing to achieve a multi-beam electronically-steered array. PSI’s flight-proven antenna design is lightweight and inexpensive. PSI proposes leveraging several years of research and development in ultrawideband, miniaturized antenna elements to develop a phased array antenna meeting the Army’s requirements. Implementing digital beam forming allows multiple steerable beams that will be tailored to mission requirements.
