Description

Polaris Sensor Technologies (Polaris) is proposing to leverage prior SBIR work to further develop, test, and optimize multi-modal electro optic and infrared (EOIR) sensors to acquire and track threats at all points in the trajectory of missile threats. These efforts were focused on addressing the need to develop advanced components, software and electronics supporting next generation acquisition, tracking and pointing technologies to provide support to future missile defense missions. Multi-modal sensors were developed including hardware-based, high speed image processing software. Further, Polaris has been developing for over 15 years multi-modal sensors for detection and discrimination of targets and then testing them for both tactical and strategic target scenarios. For this effort, Polaris will leverage commercial off the shelf (COTS) EOIR hardware as well as existing sensors available at Polaris and through Polaris’ government customers, integrate these sensors and modalities for synchronized measurement of threat relevant test events, execute the tests and follow up with appropriate analysis.
