Description
RF Viper is a novel next generation system to stop wrong-way drivers (WWD) on ramps. It is the “vehicle-to- infrastructure” missing component of the current Alert & Warning systems installed in many states. Like a true viper that uses its fangs to inject venom and incapacitate its prey, the RF Viper emits energy that interrupts vehicle engine electronics, stops the engine, incapacitating the vehicle without fatal effects to the transport or its occupants. Additionally, viper fangs fold back in the snake’s mouth, available when needed, but out of the way for normal activity. The RF Viper antennas would be embedded in the asphalt, out of the way for typical ramp activity, and would only be energized and emit electromagnetic energy pulses (EMP) when the WWD (prey) are in the area and within striking distance. The systems will connect to and integrate with various state’s existing Alert & Warning systems. RF energy is proven to stop vehicle engines in our own controlled tests, as well as those with DOD – Joint Non-Lethal Weapons Program which has a much larger application objective. Our development efforts will utilize proven vehicle stop RF and other technologies applied specifically to the wrong-way driver application.
