Description
SUMMARY Spatial Genomics, Inc. is commercializing seqFISH technology that can visualize thousands of genes at the mRNA level in single cells with spatial information preserved. Recent advances now make it possible to achieve 10,000 gene multiplexing in single cells directly in tissues (Eng et al., Nature 2019). With this technology, novel cell types can be discovered in situ and spatial organizations can be directly identified and visualized in brain tissue sections.NARRATIVE Spatial Genomics is developing a transformative technology to profile the transcriptome in single cells in situ. This technology can image gene expression directly in the brain and has many applications to neurodegenerative diseases.
