Description
Our Phase I proposal is to determine the feasibility of integrating a commercially available Spatial Phase Imaging sensor onto the U-2 intelligence gathering aircraft to provide it with a 3D imaging capability. We propose adapting the system we have currently integrated onto a Diamond Twinstar DA42 that is currently in use as a service for infrastructure inspection primarily in the Oil & Gas arena. A successful Phase I will determine the appropriate hardware path to take in a Phase II integration onto the U-2 (existing camera body or independent gimbal) as well as what software would be required to best utilize the 3D sensor’s data as part of the U-2’s mission set.
