Description

Space has traditionally been viewed as a domain of peaceful coexistence between spacefaring nations. This is no longer the case. Space is increasingly evolving into a contested domain to the extent that space superiority will be key to success within all future warfare. Despite this fact, software applications within the space domain have not kept pace to adequately fulfill operators’ needs to achieve space superiority. Synaptech proposes an iterative, collaborative customer discovery project to identify methods to simplify operator workflows for COA planning and concept analysis to increase the agility of space warfighters and TTP development. Deficiencies and pain points in current processes and tools will be identified, and preliminary designs developed to address deficits in operators’ and analysts’ software toolsets and workflows. The customer discovery project will be executed collaboratively with AFWERX Space CAMP and the 50th Space Wing Combat Development Division (CDD), and the resulting high-level software and user experience (UX) designs will be developed for potential inclusion within the Space Cockpit software architecture. Synaptech’s Rapid Analysis and Prototyping Toolkit for Resiliency (RAPTR) developed in support of SSDP, may be leveraged and customized to support space warfighters and close the capability gaps prevalent in today’s operational space systems.
