Description
Triton Systems proposes to develop and demonstrate formable reactive metal-based composites with tunable energetic properties, i.e., heat of reaction, burn rate, and ignition temperature. We will leverage nanostructured materials and advanced consolidation methods to fabricate dense composites with tailorable energy release that can be formed using standard metal processing techniques. The Phase I effort will develop and demonstrate the feasibility of our nanostructured materials and consolidation methods for making the target composites. Testing and characterization will include burn rate, differential scanning calorimetry, tensile test, transmission electron microscopy, and scanning electron microscopy/energy dispersive x-ray spectroscopy.
