Description
Warwick’s proposed effort will advance EMI shielding by incorporating this protection into a laminate that is appropriate for outdoor use. This will support the growing need to enhance military soft-walled shelters and increase security around electromagnetic emissions. This will also position the new technology to be used in commercial applications of WiFi security, autonomous cars and recreational outdoor shelters. Warwick will leverage the work completed during the Phase I and Phase II General Purpose (GP) Tent SBIR effort, as well as utilize Warwick’s existing EM Shielding technology to develop a durable single layer laminate that can be used in a broad range of environmental conditions including high wind and extreme cold. By integrating Warwick’s EMI Shielding technology directly into the GP tent materials, a more practical, cost-effective and strategic single ply laminate system can be produced to skin a shelter, eliminating the need for a separate secondary hung liner. The end product will provide a new capability to be used by command posts in support of Army priorities, and will also be used to develop new commercial products for Warwick in the aerospace, automotive and outdoor industries.
