Description
Aret Associates proposes the use of innovative advancements in electro-optic components to extend the Airborne Laser Mine Detection System (ALMDS) dynamic range.ALMDS provides a fielded capability for detection and classification of surface and near surface mines.Since the program inception 15 years ago, many electro optic advancements have occurred.These advancements will increase dynamic range and system performance.Under this Phase 1 SBIR, Aret proposes a detailed characterization of a streak tube with integrated micro-channel plate (STIL-MCP) to replace the current electro-optic combination of streak tube and image intensifier.The STIL-MCP advancement will increase the dynamic range and system performance of ALMDS.
