Description
AVID will build on the Phase I conceptual design; and will refine into a more complete model with design and off-design analysis. The final design will be the basis for a long-range swarm that is capable of delivering multiple explosively formed projectiles to multiple targets. Prototype UAVs and their aeroshells will be developed in Phase II and tested. The deployment system will be analyzed in detail to demine the best design for deploying the UAVs from their aeroshell. The aeroshell will decelerate to speeds suitable for UAV deployment. Once on their own, each UAV will autonomously fly and acquire a suitable target. The vehicle will track to the target and detonate without human intervention. The entire system will undergo flight testing and shock/vibration testing.
