Description

The Air Force uses platforms on which to build equipment, vehicles, machinery, data centers, and buildings among many other things. These platforms are almost entirely made out of steel, which has traditionally been a useful material in construction and other applications. However, materials research and engineering have advanced over decades leading to replacements for tradition materials. These materials are composites and have an array of benefits over traditional materials particularly for platform construction and assembly. Advantic composite platforms are a better alternative to traditional steel platforms. These platforms are much lighter weight, allowing for builds to not require extensive equipment or welding tools in order to assemble. This saves a significant amount of time and effort, with the direct cost savings of labor and the additional cost of machinery expenses. Advantic has a history of traction in the market space with about $950k in sales for the first half of 2018 and an estimated $3.4 million in sales for the second half of 2018. Bringing this technology to the Air Force would greatly benefit the warfighter by reducing the time of assembly for platforms.
