Description

CRG, partnered with University of Cincinnati (UC) and Arnold Magnetic Technologies, Inc (Arnold), proposes to develop, demonstrate, and deliver an electric coolant pump designed for high-temperature operation on DoD power generation subsystems and vehicle platforms. Optimized to maximize efficiency and deliver best-in-class reliability, the coolant pump will extend power generation systems applications and bridge a technology gap that exists in the marketplace. Mark G. Turner at UC brings extensive expertise in turbomachinery design and optimization, three-dimensional (3D) blade geometry generation approaches, and computational fluid dynamics (CFD), all necessary capabilities for generating advanced hydrodynamic geometry for impellers and centrifugal pump components. Arnold brings demonstrated expertise in designing, prototyping, and manufacturing high performance magnets and magnetic assemblies. CRG’s track record of innovative propulsion design, heat transfer analysis, and systems integration, partnered with UC and Arnold, positions the proposing team for successful implementation of a coolant pump solution meeting Army’s thermal management needs.
