Description
Corvid Technologies, LLC (Corvid) proposes to design and optimize a multi-axis energy attenuation (EA) seat system that will provide enhanced Soldier protection from high-energy, potentially injurious events, such as crashes, rollovers, and Vehicle Borne Improvised Explosive Device (VBIED). To demonstrate the feasibility of designing a multi-threat, multi-direction seating system in Phase I, Corvid will produce multiple candidate designs that will be integrated into simplified analysis models, loaded using representative threats in simulation, and have automated design optimization and selection methods applied to them in order to obtain optimum performance against a spectrum of threats. A selected optimized attenuation system will then be integrated into a higher-fidelity seating system model and evaluated against performance criteria, including human injury mitigation.
