Description
Corvid Technologies is pleased to offer this Phase II proposal in response to Army SBIR topic A17-010, “Ballistic Missile Defense Weather Management.” In the proposed effort, we will continue to develop Corvid’s computational capability for shock layer distortion due to hydrometeor impact on high-speed missile systems, demonstrated during our Phase I program. We will also formulate and execute a pathfinder test program to collect additional data for establishing confidence in the computational techniques. The benchmarked approach will be used to develop engineering methods for assessing flowfield distortion and aerodynamic perturbations in conventional Computational Fluid Dynamics techniques. The end result of the proposed program will be a framework for determining whether a missile system possesses sufficient control authority to engage a target successfully in either a given flight-test or operational-intercept weather environment.
