Description

Transformative space-based environmental monitoring technologies are needed to provide resilient mission critical weather data for military applications. Creare proposes to leverage our already proven sensor technologies along with key technologies and capabilities from our commercial and academic partners to rapidly deploy a low SWAP-C weather satellite sensor, which has substantially better resolution and versatility than larger sensors, such as the Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite and Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometric Suite, while also enhancing those larger sensor contributions with a complementary set of technical capabilities. During Phase I we will work with our partners and Air Force stakeholders to define the sensor suite that addresses the broadest range of target weather missions for commercial and military usage and to finalize product specifications. During Phase II we will develop and deliver a space-qualifiable end-to-end sensor solution and prepare for market commercialization and transition. Successful rapid deployment of this end-to-end solution will enable low SWAP-C sensor systems for spaceborne environmental monitoring.
