Description

Exact solvable chaotic oscillators with corresponding matched filters have recently been demonstrated for applications such as wireless communications and radar. This technology offers the possibility of complex waveform generation with relatively simple low-cost analog circuitry. To fully take advantage of this technology, much higher operating frequencies are required of the chaotic oscillators. A recent development in this technology is an exact solvable chaotic oscillator based around a first order dynamical system. The simplicity of this first order system based chaotic oscillator will be exploited with engineering design and packaging techniques to greatly increase the operating frequency of the resulting chaotic oscillator. Phase I of the effort will develop a detailed model for the physical realization of the high-frequency solvable chaotic oscillator, using simulation and testing to identify a preferred design while considering performance metrics. The Phase II effort will finalize the design of the high-frequency solvable chaotic oscillator and demonstrate it in brass-board chaos communications and radar systems, while identifying potential military and commercial applications for Phase III.
