Description
The team of EpiSys Science (EpiSci) and InterDigital proposes to develop and demonstrate an emulation system capable of deploying a full Long Term Evolution (LTE) Fifth Generation (5G) architecture, including all subcomponents, utilizing open source software tools, specifically OpenAirInterface, CORE, and EMANE, into self-contained commodity personal computer hardware. The team will utilize open source shared code components from OpenAirInterface (openairinterface.org) to construct LTE software and standardized interfaces with an emulated physical layer in Extendable Mobile Ad-hoc Network Emulator (EMANE) to provide a low cost capability to rapidly conduct research and experimentation on utilizing LTE for tactical communications and the performance of tactical sensors and other mission command systems under varying scenario configurations and conditions.
