Description
NLign is built on an innovative application of data mapping technology and is a scalable and extensible suite of software tools to collect, organize, and analyze aircraft structural inspection and repair data. The AFSC NDI operations at Tinker AFB initiated a SBIR Phase II program to extend the NLign application upstream in the data capture process, and provide a streamlined, integrated tablet-based solution for inspectors and maintainers. The outcome of that project is the NCheck application. The current Air Force A-10 inspection/repair CONOPS is a labor intensive, paper-based reporting process. The steps in this process include: • Perform inspection based on paper-based work card instructions • Locate Damage by Operator/Maintainer • Document Location of Damage on Paper Forms • Transfer Damage Location Information (Forms) to Engineer • Access/Search for Similar Damage and Historical Repairs • Develop/Document Repair and Send to Maintainer NCheck provides an integrated solution that streamlines the process, captures the data electronically and immediately provides this data to the SPO maintainers and engineers. . This effort looks to build upon those projects by refining the data capture program and provide the funding, training and support to pilot the solution across the entire A-10 depot structural maintenance process.
