Description
Engine testing requires extensive time for manual data reduction and analysis, adding several months to the end of the test, increasing test costs and impacting the overall development schedule. Commercial industry has adopted automated data reduction and analysis techniques, which has led to reduced engine development cycle times, improved test efficiency, and reduced development costs. Adopting commercial test data software systems has the potential to provide significant time and cost savings to the USAF, while improving the efficiency and effectiveness of engine development testing. In the proposed SBIR program, APEX Turbine Testing Technologies will adapt its commercially available DX automated test data analysis software to the Arnold Engineering Development Complex’s (AEDC) enterprise test data system, in order to provide a real-time, automated data reduction capability. APEX will also develop automated trending & analysis tools to help provide intelligent insights into the test data, also in an automated fashion.
