Description
Illumination Works (ILW) will utilize its 8+ years of experience with GCSS-AF Data Services including REMIS, SCS, CEMS, IMDS, SBSS, LIMS-EV, and MS Business Objects to assess the feasibility of a deterministic probability for the connection between the Work Unit Code (WUC) and the supply/logistics National Item Identification Number (NIIN). This linkage may provide a more accurate picture for the support of the air force’s weapons systems and provide an enormous cross-cutting opportunity for end-users of this data. Air Force maintenance and supply data both have known data quality challenges, therefore, more well-structured research into the validity of the maintenance data and how it links to logistics data is needed. Our approach uses ILW’s I3 (Ideate, Innovate, Iterate) Complete Methodology for a repeatable discovery to assess the feasibility of creating a crosswalk with existing or new data, and determine the level of accuracy that can be achieved and relied upon. Phase I success will be measured by identifying a method to achieve an accuracy match of greater than a 75% between WUC to NIIN to assist in further analysis around spares utilization. Phase II will implement the method in an enterprise-shareable data structure and improve upon accuracy and reliability.
