Description

Nuclear batteries have enormous potential as power sources and have many benefits over other types of portable power sources. Nuclear batteries can provide power for at least as long as the isotope half-life and the energetic nature of nuclear radiation means that only a small mass of radioisotope material is required to achieve a high power output and therefore they can have power densities that are a million times greater or more than chemical batteries. Additionally, nuclear batteries are insensitive to the environment so they can provide stable power even in extreme conditions where the performance of chemical power sources would be hindered significantly. Infinity Power will develop a high efficiency prototype nuclear battery that can produce long-term reliable power suitable for a wide variety of applications and systems. An in-depth study will be conducted on suitable isotopes or isomers for use in the nuclear battery along with their associated production methods and costs.
