Description

In this proposal, IFT presents the implementation of an RF and EO/IR mixed sensor system for human target detection and geolocation. The system is low SWaP and low cost. Thus, it can be easily integrated on a UGV or larger UAV. Due to the use of an LFMCW radar, in harsh conditions such as in dust and smoke, the system is able to detect friendly targets and non-friendly moving targets, and localize human targets with 5m accuracy. In good conditions, the EO/IR sensor will detect LOS human targets, localize targets with a high accuracy, and discriminate friendly and non-friendly targets. IFT’s rich experience in cooperative and non-cooperative target detection and localization, image processing techniques, hardware design and implementation greatly reduce the risk of project implementation. The system can be applied in indoor and outdoor environments. It can work with one or more platforms and its deployment is convenient. Its application possibilities including various DOD missions, such as terrorist searching in a tunnel or a building, small scale street combat, and civil applications, such as disaster rescue, search and recovery, and automatic target/vehicle surveillance.
