Description
There is currently no autonomous pallet loading/unloading solution for full or half size 463L Military pallets. In austere environments such as those encountered at forward operating bases (FOB) and further forward, this is a significant problem. With no means of autonomously positioning or retrieving supplies at the aircraft, re-tasking fire teams and other personnel critical to the fight and general operations is often necessary. IS4S will modify the Autonomous Cargo Handling System (ACHS), mechanical systems, software, and electronics designs resulting in a robot capable of handling full and half size 463L pallets on and off of Military aircraft in forward austere environments. By leveraging the ACHS design, we will fast track the development and demonstration of a full scale prototype in Phase II.
