Description
Tactical networking environments present many challenges in terms of demands and limitations regarding bandwidth, latency, reliability, stability, and connectivity. With the exponential growth in mobile sensing technology, embedded sensors increasingly generate large amount of content (e.g., images and videos) that exceed the ability of tactical networks to transfer and disseminate them reliably and timely. To address this need, we propose to design and implement a prototype of the Resource Aware Information Sharing Intelligent Network (RAISIN) technology. The objectives of RAISIN are 1) to improve communications in a tactical network with situational awareness and 2) to provide the commander with actionable intelligence that is represented by the Value of Information (VoI).
