Description
Emerging technologies in high pulse, rate fiber lasers operating the SWIR spectral band have enabled the design and build of a new class of long range, wide area surveillance LIDAR providing high resolution 3D imagery over large areas. This technology can be harnessed to detect, accurately track, and classify sUAS as ranges that will enable a spectrum of means for timely disablement. The proposed work will define an Engineering Development Model (EDM) that integrates all key LIDAR system technologies into a demonstration system whose performance will enable confident scaling to operational LIDAR designs. A plan for build and test of the EDM will be prepared for execution in Phase 2.
