Description
KaZaK Technologies team members are proposing several concepts to meet Navy requirements for development of innovative approaches to meet the solicitations primary objective for a low parasitic flywheel energy system (FES). Our team will work to design a FES to minimize purchase and operating costs. KaZaK efforts to design, fabricate and test a shipboard FES will meet Navy requirements. To accomplish these goals our team will draw on currently funded and previously funded Navy experiences in the design/ analysis/ fabrication of structures, composite/ metallic shipboard systems and shipboard integration to Navy performance and ship schedule requirements.

Following design and manufacture, Phase II testing is required to verify that the FES meets dynamic performance requirements. In addition, there are thermal, shipboard geometric, design specific variables and other mechanical/environmental challenges to be met before completion of a shipboard FES is realized. To meet these design goals, KaZaK is proposing several low cost, lightweight designs. If awarded a Phase II, our team will work to apply Phase I designs and analyses to the fabrication of a prototype for testing.
