Description
The need to launch Unmanned Underwater Vehicles from a 21" torpedo tube environment is of interest. To address this need, a carbon fiber composite sabot system utilizing advanced materials is proposed. The Unmanned Underwater Vehicle Sabot System (UUVSS) will be designed to function within a 21" torpedo tube environment on Virginia Class submarines. The proposed technology will be fabricated, tested, and delivered to NUWC division Newport.
