Description
Currently used commercially available peel and stick conformal antennas for Group 1 and Group 2 Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (SUAS) used by the Air Force are inadequate. They are either too weak and fail relevant Air Force validation and qualification tests or are not easily removed and damage the composite structure. Thus, any novel removable peel and stick conformal antenna solutions for SUAS must be easily removable without damaging the composites yet be very durable against environmental field exposures, passing all relevant military specifications. Luna will develop thin, lightweight, and easy-release conformal antennas suitable for any SUAS composite type. We will combine simulation and experimental fabrication to optimize product solutions to provide the Air Force a range of suitable, easy release, durable conformal antennas for SUAS.
