Description

The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) is seeking small businesses capable of manufacturing and supplying an assortment of replacement components for the F107 turbofan engine. The F107 is most commonly used as the propulsion system for cruise missiles. Given the F107’s primary use, maintaining a supply chain capable of keeping the engine in operation is paramount. DLA has stated that the F107 engine will remain in service until 2030 and therefore must identify manufacturers to supply items that require replacement during regular maintenance, repair, or engine overhaul. DLA has reached out to Mainstream to undertake a set of components, develop technical data for manufacturing, and become approved sources for future supply of these components. A list of 44 items for the F107 was provided by DLA as the focus of this effort. During this effort, Mainstream will compile all technical data necessary to manufacture items from the provided F107 parts list in an effort to complete SAR packages and become an approved supplier. Technical data may be elicited from government-supplied data or from inspection and reverse engineering of sample components.
