Description

The most critical component of any modern enterprise is effective use of its human resources. The rise of productivity-boosting applications and wearable sensors has provided individual users with data-driven insights into their own effectiveness. Despite these advancements there has not been a corresponding rise in tools for evaluating and improving the effectiveness of teams as a whole. New wearable sensors and analytic capabilities are emerging and producing data streams that largely go unused. To address this need and opportunity, Modus Operandi and the Institute for Human and Machine Cognition propose a Runnable Environment for Team Effectiveness and Assessment Metrics (reTEAM), an extensible platform to leverage untapped data to put the cutting edge in team assessment techniques into the hands of today’s team leaders. reTEAM addresses the challenge of evaluating performance by providing users with feedback at every level of their team. Wearable and social sensor data is aggregated, normalized, and fused into a set of metrics about individuals that can be easily understood and reasoned over. These metrics then feed a study of interpersonal relationships within the team, which in turn feeds further analysis and the generation of team-level insights and diagnostics that drive continuous team performance improvement.
