Description
The widespread adoption of AM for production of structural components is often stymied by the variability in static and dynamic properties caused by application of non-optimized post-processing schemes. MRL is proposing to demonstrate a microstructure-informed, ICME simulation tool for optimization of hot isostatic pressing and heat treatment to enhance static and dynamic performance of metal AM components. This tool will help empower designers to simulate the location-specific microstructure and specify the optimal HIP/heat treatment cycle to achieve maximum fatigue life for their geometry, material, and AM system.
