Description
Selection of processing parameters for laser powder bed fusion of metallic alloys, such as Ti6Al4V, to satisfy particular requirements for quality characteristics (e.g. mechanical performance, dimensional accuracy, and cost) requires accurate prediction of the macro-scale effects of multi-scale, multi-physics interaction between processing, microstructure, and performance. As such, Materials Resources LLC is proposing to demonstrate a workflow for component-level optimization of AM processing parameters comprising a toolset for microstructure-based prediction of AM processing parameter-properties interactions coupling analytical, numerical, and data-driven modeling along with efficient simulation of macro-scale performance using fast surrogate models.
