Description

The advancement of our Nation’s ranging and communications systems is a crucial component for protecting national security. New and innovative technologies help to maintain our advantages on the battlefield, particularly when the combat capabilities of our adversaries continue to advance. For example, dramatic improvements to the size, weight, and power (SWaP) of radar and communications systems could have immediate and widespread applications throughout the Army, ranging from manned/unmanned weapons systems to soldiers on the front line. In addition, any advancements to the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of the waveforms in these systems will also improve the fidelity and distances over which radar and communications platforms can operate, where any methods to decrease the probability of detection of such signals are also desirable. Thus, spread-spectrum radar and communications systems with maximal SNR and minimized electronic footprint are a priority to help prepare the warfighter for future challenges. Monte Sano Research Corporation in collaboration with Southern Research proposes demonstrate a high-frequency solvable chaotic circuit for application in such systems.
