Description
The cryogenic temperatures required for many detectors limits their viability on small platforms including personnel vehicles, UAVs, and smallsats. The removal of cryogenic cooling devices could decrease the overall sensor system complexity and price, as well as total footprint and mass, resulting in multiple reductions in cost. Recent advances in microfabrication have enabled smaller, higher operating temperature detection modalities. These emerging technologies are poised to deliver exceptional speeds, as well. Nanohmics proposes to develop a dual-band demonstration system capable of attaining these benefits.
