Description
Precision Combustion, Inc. (PCI) will develop a novel solar-powered high efficiency regenerable dehumidifier for the Stryker and other military vehicles (Humvee, Abrams/Bradley). It will build upon PCI’s experience in developing low energy cabin air regenerable dehumidification systems for manned space missions (NASA) and for buildings (EPA) and is based on PCI’s proprietary and patented technologies. The technology utilizes a thermally regenerable dehumidifier that needs a very low amount of solar energy to operate. The system is designed for unnamed operation over long periods of time. Efforts will focus on preliminary system integration concept and functional design of solar powered dehumidification system. Initial tasks will focus on designing and fabricating the sorbent based dehumidifier assessing its capacity, durability and power requirements for operation in Stryker Humidity Control. The end goal of the project is to develop and deliver an integrated alpha-prototype including all balance of plant components.
